Purpose of Urinal Cleaning
Clean, disinfect and deodorize the urinal
Reduce the growth and spread of bacteria
Outside urinal
Spray the flush handle and all the chrome around the urinal.
Spray the outside of the urinal with a cleaner disinfectant.
Spray the underside of the outside of the urinal and allow disinfectant to remain wet for 10 minutes.
Clean the outside of each urinal.
Procedures for Cleaning a Urinal
Put on personal protective equipment. Always follow OSHA regulations and your site-specific exposure control plan.
Inside urinal
Apply 1 to 2 ounces of bowl cleaner evenly onto the bowl swab.
Swab entire surface inside, under the rim, and where the water outlets are located.
Flush urinal and rinse bowl swab thoroughly.
Set bowl swab aside, placing it into a carrying container.
